RAISE YOUR ARMS IF AN ARM LIFT SOUNDS GOOD TO YOU

If you have just completed a massive weight loss journey, then you must feel so proud of yourself and all that you’ve accomplished. And even though losing that amount of weight is definitely worth celebrating, it can also leave you with something that not a lot of people talk about; excess skin. If your excess skin is making you feel very self-conscious about certain parts of your body, like your arms, and makes you feel too self-conscious to wear a t-shirt, tank top, or anything else that shows off your arms, then we at Dominion Plastic Surgery may recommend a procedure called a brachioplasty.

What’s A Brachioplasty?

A brachioplasty or an arm lift is a surgical procedure that’s done to remove excess areas of both fat and skin from the upper arms. Depending on your body and just how much loose skin you have will help our surgeons determine where exactly to make the incisions for this surgery, but we always try to make the incisions as small as possible and in an area where they are hidden.

What Is Recovery Like?

After you are sent into recovery, we will monitor you for a little and then we will typically discharge you the same day of your surgery. Once we send you home, we encourage our patients to keep their arms wrapped in compression sleeves and to refrain from any sort of heavy lifting or intense arm movements.

Does a brachioplasty sound like a surgery that you could benefit from? During your initial consultation, we will go over all of your surgical options and make sure that a brachioplasty is the right thing for you.

If you are interested in an arm lift in the Washington, DC, Bethesda, and Potomac, MD, Fairfax, Falls Church, Arlington, and Alexandria, VA areas, schedule a consultation with our office.
